Expanded rosters means expanded opportunities
Its that time of year... September. The dreaded end of summer and for MLB players its when hopes have been pretty much squashed. Here's a very important thing to consider for all MLB bettors... September 1 is the day rosters get expanded and a massive amount of call-ups will be made from the farm.
What this means to the average MLB bettor:
- GM's around the league just tossed many jokers into the decks of bookies
- Some of the most talented players in the league finally will get their playing time
- Playoff bound teams take the foot off the gas and coast to October
- Players you have never heard of will dominate stat sheets in ways you wouldn't expect
Expect this final month of the season to toss sportsbooks for a loss. No one can gauge the kind of energy new players can bring even to the most horrible of situations (check the Rangers last year) or just how poorly veterans can waste at-bats and pitches if they're thinking about the playoffs.
Teams like The Mets, Cubs, Brewers might have new life, so make sure to keep an eye on it and poorly set lines.
