Real Kyper at Noon EP.011 – Can Toronto Play Playoff Hockey? NYI Goaltending Could Hold Them Back | Mike Babcock to UVM

It’s Real Kyper at Noon, Episode 011, and our playoff previews conclude today with Nick Kypreos and Doug Maclean, switching our focus to the Toronto Maple Leafs (8) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets (9) and the New York Islanders (7) vs. Florida Panthers (10).

The biggest question mark in Toronto is clear. Can the Leafs play playoff hockey? We know the Blue Jackets play with a suffocating John Tortorella defensive structure, which could in theory benefit them yet again in the NHL playoffs. Matching the offensive output of Toronto will be a much larger challenge for Columbus in this series.

Can Semyon Varlamov or Thomas Greiss bring Stanley Cup caliber goaltending for the Islanders? They don’t face a ton of quality chances because of the way NYI plays, but that said, If Sergei Bobrovsky plays how he did in Columbus last year… this series could swing quickly in the Panthers favor quickly.
